My work is based around the concept of
evolving shifts in nature juxtaposed with what is perceived reality, ultimately creating wild dreamlike landscapes. By rearranging or abstracting formal references to natural forms, shape and landscape, images come together in a composite driven by curiosity in environment and natural diversity.
Piecing and layering shapes and forms of organisms, systems, and landscape create a sort of visual “earth diary,” or "layered cake" of natural successions or conditions. Wall sculptures hint at the body reacting to it's conditions while paintings reveal an environment reinventing itself. This process may also be described as an ongoing experiment with the subconscious while layering it with inherited natural conditions.
